Q: How much does Warblade cost, and how do i get it ?

A: For now (September 2005) you can buy the full game (Version v1.2e) for € 20. You can register you support at www.warblade.as on the register section. You can use online payment (Kagi or PayPal or Shareit!) or send registration fee directly to Edgar M. Vigdal. You must supply a valid email address! This email address will be used only to email you the information needed to log in to a protected download page. Edgar M. Vigdal can not send you the files via email!
I can NOT supply you Warblade on CD or DVD!

Minimum-System-Voraussetzungen?
A: You will need at least at PII 350 MHz, 32 MB RAM, and 16 MB graphics card to run the game. Recommended PC is PIII, 800MHz, 128 MB RAM and a graphics card with 32 MB RAM and 3D acceleration.
You will also need at least 16 MB free space on the harddisk. Sound card is not needed. The better PC you have the better the game will perform.

A: No. Windows NT4.0 does not support higher the DirectX 3.0 (as far as I know)

Q: Where should level pack be installed?
Wohin sollen die Levelpacks installiert werden?
A: You should install all extra level packs and time trial levels to the same directory that you installed Warblade. (default is C:program fileswarblade) If you want to copy the files yourself, you must copy the files to the data directory in the Warblade directory.
Alle Extra-Level-Packs sowie die Time Trial Level sollten in dem selben Verzeichnis wie Warblade installiert werden (die Grundeinstellung ist: c:programfileswarblade - bitte vorher prüfen!). Wenn du die Files selbst kopieren willst, musst du diese Files in den Datenordner des Warblade-Verzeichnisses herein kopieren).

Q: Warblade will not start or is quiting out to windows. What can I do?
Warblade startet nicht oder kehrt zurück zu Windows. Was kann ich tun?
A: To help me find out if there is bug, please send me the file warblade.dbg. You will find it in the same directory as you installed Warblade. Send it to me via email (edgar@warblade.as)
Um herauszufinden, ob es sich hierbei um einen Bug handelt, helft mir bitte, indem ihr mir ein File namens warblade.dbg zusendet. Du findest es in dem selben Verzeichnis indem du Warblade installiert hast. Sende dies an mich per eMail (edgar@warblade.as).

Q: I have problems login in to the protected download area! What can I do?
Ich habe Probleme, mich in die passwortgeschützte Downloadarea einzuloggen. Was kann ich tun?
A: First: check if you use the latest login info. (You should receive this in an email from me)
Select the text (Only the letters in the userID, password and email address, not any of the white spaces at the start or end of the text) with the mouse, press CTRL+C to copy the text, switch over to the web page with the login and click in the correct textbox, (UserID box for user ID and so on... ) press CTRL+V to paste the copied text into the textbox. Do the same with the password and email address. If this do not work for you, contact me.
Zuerst: vergewissere dich, dass du die neueste Login-Info benutzt (die solltest du von mir in einer eMail erhalten haben). Klicke mit der Maus in den Text (nur in die Buchstaben der UserID, Passwort und eMail-Adresse, nicht in die weißen Zwischenräume am Anfang oder Ende des Textes), drücke Strg+C um den Text zu kopieren, wechsle auf die Login-Webseite und klicke nun in die entsprechende Textbox (UserID-Box für die UserID und so weiter). Presse dann Strg+V, um den kopierten Text in die Textbox einzufügen. Das Gleiche machst du mit dem Passwort und deiner eMail-Adresse. Wenn dies jetzt nicht funktioniert, dann kontaktiere mich bitte.

Q: I have a new hiscore and would like to get it on the online Hall of Fame. What do I do?
Ich habe eine neue HighScore und möchte damit gerne in die online-Hall of Fame. Was kann ich tun?
A: If you are still in the game you can press the key F8. This will start the HiScore submit tool. With this program you can select a hiscore entry and click on the Submit Selected HiScore button. Your hiscore will then be sent do the online Hall of Fame and added if its good enough!
Während du noch im Spiel bist, drücke die Taste F8. Dies startet das HiScore submit tool (Übertragungsprogramm). Dein HiScore wird dann in die Online Hall of Fame übertragen und eingefügt, sofern dein HiScore gut genug ist!

Q: Why did you change the name from DG to Warblade?
Warum hast du den Namen von Deluxe Galaga in Warblade geändert?
A: I was afraid I would get the law*** of *#&#% knocking on my door. They started taking all that made something sounding like g***** to court, so I thought a change of name would be the best.
Ich fürchtete, irgendwann würden irgendwelche Anwälte (Patentanwälte?) an meiner Tür klopfen. Die hatten nämlich damit begonnen, alles was irgendwie wie Galaga klang, vors Gericht zu bringen; so dachte ich eine Namensänderung wäre das Beste.

A: You have to install or reinstall DirectX 8.1 or later. You can download DirectX 8.1 or later at www.microsoft.com/directx or maybe find it on a new computer magazines cover CD or DVD.
Du solltest DirectX 8.1 (oder neuere Version) installieren. Du kannst DirectX 8.1. (oder neuer) von www.microsoft.com/directx auf den PC laden oder es auf vielen CDs oder DVDs neuerer Computerzeitschriften finden.

Q: What does the Merge hiscore option in the game do?
Was macht eigentlich diese Merge hiscore-Option in dem Spiel?
A: The merge hiscore function can be used to merge two different hiscore files together and get a new one with the best scores from the two hiscores files. The resulting new hiscore file can be send by email to a friend. You can only merge two hiscores files from the same Warblade versions (2 Demo hiscores or 2 Full version hiscores)
Mit der merge hiscore function kann man (nur) zwei verschiedene Highscorelisten miteinander mischen, so dass daraus eine Highscoreliste mit den besten Ergebnissen entsteht. Diese so entstandene Liste kann man per Email z. B. an einen Freund schicken. Man kann aber nur 2 Highscorelisten der selben Warblade-Version erzeugen (2 Demo Highscores oder 2 Vollversionen-Highscores). Dies ist ganz sinnvoll, wenn mehrere Spieler auf einem PC spielen und man am Ende eine gemeinsame Highscoreliste benutzen will.

A: You can change the music, either MP3 or MOD music by doing this: You must copy your top MP3s (or MOD files) to the Warblade directory and rename them like this.

Q: What is the difference between Simple and Normal Collision detection?
Was ist der Unterschied zwischen Simple und Normal Collision Detection?
A: The simple collision detection is based on overlapping rectangles. Each object (An alien, a bullet or a bonus icon) has a rectangle that gfx of the object is inside. If two objects rectangles are overlapping (one of them is inside the other one) the collision state is set to true.
The advanced collision detection is based on overlapping pixels and the simple detection. If the simple detection is true, it will start testing if any pixels in the two objects is overlapping. If one pixel is overlapping another pixel in the other object the collision is a fact.
Die einfache (simple) Trefferaufnahme basiert auf überlappende Rechtecke. Jedes Objekt (ein Alien, ein Bullet oder ein Bonusicon) umgibt 1 Rechteck, in dem sich die Grafik des Objektes befindet. Wenn sich die Rechtecke von 2 Objekten überlappen (eines von beiden ist im anderen), wird ein Treffer erkannt.
Die erweitere (normale) Trefferaufnahme basiert auf überlappende Pixel und deiner einfachen Trefferaufnahme. Wenn die einfache Trefferaufnahme einen Treffer erkennt, wird getestet, ob irgendwelche Pixel der beiden Objekte überlappen. Wenn ein Pixel einen anderen Pixel des anderen Objekts überlappt, wird ein Treffer registriert.

Q: What programming language was used to make Warblade?
Welche Programmiersprache wurde für Warblade verwendet?
A: Warblade is made in C++ (Mostly C and some C++), and a little bit of assembler. I use MS Visual Studio 6.

Q: Do I need to download the full installation file (which is BIG) each time a new beta is released?
Muss ich jedesmal das volle Installationsfile herunter laden (welches sehr groß ist), sobald eine neue Beta veröffentlicht wurde?
A: No! If the only new thing is a updated warblade beta, then you only need to download the smaller executable update.
Nein, wenn das einzig Neue ein Update einer Warblade Beta ist, dann reicht es, wenn du nur die kleinere .exe herunterlädst.

Q: What is the Profile system?
Was ist ein Profile-System?
A: In beta version 11 I added something called accounts. Each user of the game can create his or heres personal account and use this account each time they play the game. In the account all sorts of statistics are recorded and used to unlock features in the game. e.g. One lock can open up and enable autofire from the start of the game, without catching any bonuses. There are many locks! The accounts is password protected. The user ID you select to use is also automatically entered as the name in the an hiscore entry.
Since Mai 2004 the accounts have renamed into Profile!
Bereits mit der BetaVersion 11 fügte der Autor sogenannte Accounts hinzu. Jeder Spieler des Games kann seinen eigenen, persönlichen Spielaccount erstellen und diesen Account ein jedes Mal, wenn er das Spiel spielt, benutzen. In diesem Account werden alle möglichen Statistiken aufgezeichnet und sind notwendig, um einige Besonderheiten des Spieles zu aktivieren. Ein Lock (Schloss) kann z. B. geöffnet werden und aktiviert mit jedem Start des Spieles das Autofire (Autofeuer), ohne das man dazu irgendwelche Bonus sammeln müsste. Von diesen Locks sind viele vorhanden! Die Accounts sind Passwort geschützt. Die von dir gewählte User-ID (Account-Name) wird automatisch als Spielername in der HighScoreliste eingetragen.
Im Mai 2004 wurden die Accounts in Profile umbenannt!
